Book Synopsis: I have been passionate about chess games since my early childhood. My first set was made of ebony and sandalwood, brought back by a friend during one of his trips to Asia. This is how my collection started. I started to hunt around (flea markets, antic shop , etc ...) in each country I visited. I remember the great emotion I felt during a visit to the Topkapi Museum in Istanbul where I had the opportunity to see an incredible chess set in a magnificent window display. Everywhere I went, I had one goal, which was to find chess sets. As a result of this I ended up with a collection of more than 350 chess sets. The urge to share with you and the players around the world has finally become a reality for me. I decided to make an ebook. I have listed all my photos (about 1000/1500 ). I would ask you for a little forgiveness for some lower quality photos (some are over 30/40 years old!). Indeed, we have moved from film to digital, which makes the difference! I must also tell you that making a precise and chronological classification is very difficult, if not impossible.We can note some families of games like Asia, Dieppe, English, Africa. Wood, ivory, carved wood, Selenus and Regences sets, ceramics, metals and many more.
