Book Synopsis: I wrote this book in an effort to remove some of the mystery behind VA’s disability claims process and share with you some insight that will help guide you through your own claim–from start to finish. As you read this book, try to think of this as me walking you through your claim; warning you of the obstacles that lie ahead and sharing some goodies for you to pick up along the way. During the span of my seven-year career with the Veterans Benefits Administration, I was Coach. Before then, I served the VA and Veterans in having been a Veterans Service Representative (VSR), an employee responsible for developing claims and also as a Rating Veterans Service Representative (RVSR), one who actually rated disabilities and granted or denied service connection for claimed conditions. Through my experience in these unique responsibilities, I providing you a personal roadmap for completing your own claim.This second edition has updated information and new restrictions and requirements for Service members filing a claim through the Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD) claim process. These new requirements went into effect on October 1, 2017 and was the main impetus for my writing a second edition.
